1967 MUSTANG FASTBACK

My third Mustang, when I saw this for sale, I couldn't help myself, the '65 had to go! I bought this one in the summer of 1988.

I bought this one pretty much in this condition, nice car! How do you like that Mickey Thompson dual point distributor and JC Whitney CD ignition box?! Try and find points and a distributor cap for that! I ditched the distributor and the ignition box and replaced them with an Accel blueprint series vacuum advance distributor and Mallory solid state trigger. It had an Edelbrock Torker 289 intake and a Competition Cams 260H cam, Holley 600 vacuum secondary carb, unknown brand long tube headers and a deep sump 7 quart oil pan. Three speed manual transmission, yuck!! with a Hurst shifter. The rear end was a 8 inch open rear end with 3.40 gears. With the traction bars and fat rubber it could put the power to the ground, the lack of traction lock didn't seem to matter! When I had the headers off to do a clutch job, it looked like the heads had been ported. It definitely liked to rev, even with the somewhat small cam! Between the open air cleaner and the headers and turbo mufflers, it made beautiful music when you gave it the gas!!

Well, we moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in July of 1989. Started having kids in 1991. I realized that I couldn't aford to have kids and two Mustangs, a Bronco and  a motorcycle and be able to play with the Mustangs. The Mustang 5.0 craze was in full effect and I wanted to hop up the '85. So, I sold this one in the fall of 1991. Should have kept this one too! EFI 351W, aluminum heads, Tremec etc...
